The Courier-Journal analyzed Tuesday’s gubernatorial race between incumbent Gov. Matt Bevin and Democratic challenger Attorney General Andy Beshear, using maps to show where voters came through for each nominee.

Bevin, a Republican, lost by roughly 5,000 votes and has formally requested the Kentucky Secretary of State’s office conduct a recanvass of the Nov. 5 vote. The unofficial final tally was 709,577 for Beshear and runningmate Jacqueline Coleman, and 704,388 for Beshear and runningmate Ralph Alvarado. The Libertarian ticket of John Hicks and Ann Cormican garnered 28,425 votes.

In the meantime, here is a look at where Beshear picked up votes in Tuesday’s election.
